Eden Muñoz Biography
Rodolfo Edén Muñoz Cantú, better known as Edén Muñoz, is a Mexican singer, songwriter and producer of regional Mexican music born on September 25, 1990 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico.
As a young child, Muñoz and his family moved from Los Mochis to Mazatlán. Edén’s older brother Daniel gave him guitar lessons when Edén was eight years old. After several years of playing music in family gatherings, local bands, festivals, and restaurants, in 2006 Muñoz formally joined the professional band Colmillo Norteño as a vocalist and guitarist.
In early 2010, Muñoz left Colmillo Norteño due to differences with other members and formed his own Norteño-Banda style group initially called Puro Colmillo Norteño, later renamed to Calibre 50 to avoid legal conflicts. Between 2010 and 2022, Muñoz was the leader, main songwriter, producer, vocalist, and accordionist for Calibre 50, obtaining the record for the most #1 songs for a Regional Mexican band or solo artist on Billboard.
Muñoz has also been a successful songwriter of several hits for other major Regional Mexican acts. In early 2022, he announced his departure from Calibre 50 to pursue a solo career. He signed with Sony Music México in October 2023.
Throughout his career, Muñoz has received numerous awards and accolades from organizations like SACM (Sociedad de Autores y Compositores de México)[4]. With his immense popularity and songwriting talent, Edén Muñoz continues to be a driving force in the Regional Mexican music scene.
