Born in Texas and raised in Oklahoma, Wells is the son of two pastors. He became part of a Christian worship band while he was still in high school called Tauren Wells and the Youth. The group released three albums before disbanding; they reunited for one last show at their 20th anniversary party in 2016.
Wells’ first solo album was titled “Hills & Valleys.” It reached number two on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart when it came out earlier this year, and has since been certified platinum by RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).
Tomlin recently received three Dove Awards including Artist of the Year during the 2018 GMA Dove Awards ceremony held on October 16th.
